Group Lessons
Group Lessons
can serve many purposes and enhance opportunities for
students in different ways.
Our
Guitar Basics
class designed to teach the basics to beginners
interested in guitar lessons. This class teaches music
notation, tab, simple chords, and beginning songs. This
class is a great way to determine the interest level and
prepare for private instruction.
We
also offer a Rock Band Class for
those that are ready to work with group situations.
These classes are designed to
give students the opportunity to play in a band. All
styles are taught, from jazz/rock/alternative/Hip Hop
and even
classical. All workshops are taught by an instructor
and will show case performances at the end. 
Evaluation is required to determine optimum playing
level. The levels are A, B, and C as follows: Level A
– Intermediate players that can read chord charts, learn
from recordings, and have some previous group
experience. Level B – Competent on an instrument but
little or no group experience. (Lessons for 2 years
recommended) Level C – Understanding of some basics,
power chords (for guitar), simple rock groove for
drummer. (Lessons for 1 year recommended) Some of the
skills that will be covered are: Learn to play with a
group in sync. Learn to set up for your performance.
Learn gear and understand proper use. Learn to follow
chord charts. Learn how to back up a singer or multiple
singers. Learn to adjust proper playing volume, stage
presence, starting and ending with finesse. And how to
follow simple stage commands and signals.
Composition classes
are also offered for those that want to compose
music, only 3 per class.
String ensemble classes
are available when enough people show
interest and sign up. These can be very fun and
enriching. This is an opportunity for creating a small
orchestra and chamber ensembles.
