Give your child the gift of music in a fun, interactive environment designed to promote his or her development!

What is the class like?

   This class is specifically designed to make learning music fun. Your child will sing, dance, move, play instruments, and participate in games all designed with specific skill  development and content objectives.

What methodologies are used within this classroom?

·       Kodaly ~ a music literacy based method designed to promote learning through experience focused on skill development

·       Orff ~ an instrument based method designed to promote skill development through interactive lessons

What skills will my child develop?

·       Large and small motor skills

▪        Ability  to control his or her body in a space

▪        Ability to move to a musical beat

▪        Ability to use materials such as instruments and props appropriately

▪        Ability to follow a set of icons as a precursor to literacy skills

·       Develop listening skills

▪        Ability repeat short spoken and musical phrases

▪        Ability to recognize high and low sounds

▪        Ability to recognize fast and slow

▪        Ability to follow short spoken or sung directions

·       Control of his or her voice

▪        Ability to demonstrate his/her speaking and singing voice

▪        Ability to sing short musical phrases using a good tone

▪        Ability to create high and low sounds with his/her voice

·       Analytical Skills

▪        Ability to recognize same and different

▪        Ability to recognizing icons as a visual for a song

▪        Ability to imagine and play creatively

▪        Development of  precise memory through songs and games

▪        Ability to name and demonstrate simple musical concepts
