The Musik Planet offers a Certificate of Merit TM Preparation class to get students ready for upcoming certifications.

Dear Parents,

It's that time again to prepare for Certificate of Merit Piano Evaluations.  Certificate of Merit will be held this upcoming year on Sunday, March 25, 2012.  For those piano students that are interested in participating, Certificate of Merit Preparation Classes will begin October 26^th, 2011.    

The classes are one hour each, at a set time, once a week until the CM Test.  Some dates will be selected closer to March for a Performance/Technical and Sight Reading Master Class, and one for Playbacks/Clap-backs/Ear Training Master Classes, which are required for devoted students to prepare for these tests.  These small group classes are in addition to the monthly private lessons your pianist is already enrolled in.   The Price is $44 per month, or $205 if paid up front (5 months).

Attendance in these classes is mandatory to be prepared for the Certificate of Merit and for those in Level 5 Piano and above for Carnegie Hall Royal Achievement Program. The formal setting is a great opportunity for students to learn in.

The reward, when your musician passes the evaluations, will be a Certificate from the Music Teachers Association of California along with a small statue of a famous composer supplied by The Musik Planet.  These certificates are well respected throughout the nation and are noteworthy for future resumes.  Plus, the added musical knowledge that your pianist(s) will carry with them for the rest of their lives is indispensable.  All of this is impossible to cover in the regular 30-minute lessons once a week.  We will not enroll any students that do not take these CM prep classes in CM or the Achievement Level tests (5 and above) without these classes, for we have found the students do not test well without them.  

Both the MTAC and Carnegie Hall Royal Academy recognizes outstanding students through their Certificate Programs.  There are Honors Recitals, Convention Recitals, Panel Recitals, and Certificates of Excellence. 

It is our goal at The Musik Planet to provide these and other opportunities to those of our students who wish to take advantage of them.

Group classes will be limited to four/five students, except for the Master Class and the practice test.  Choices for the one hour group classes are below.  Please pick your first and your second choice and communicate this back to me.   I will try my best to group everyone according to their levels.   Also, if for some reason a class is missed, attendance can only be arranged during a different CM class.  No make-up classes will be available.
